Buddhist Approach to Aging, Illness and Death Study Group
The Buddha had a lot to say about aging, illness and death. His wisdom feels relevant today in our present day society that often avoids these topics. How can we meet death fearlessly? How can we learn to mourn wisely and not get lost in grief? Come join the conversation in this monthly study group using the book Older and Wiser: Classical Buddhist Teachings on Aging, Sickness, and Death by Mu Soeng, Gloria Taraniya Ambrosia and Andrew Olendzki.
This group is an offshoot of the course offered in the fall at Assaya sangha, however it is open to anyone regardless of whether they were in that class. We will be starting over at the beginning of the book and go slowly through it again. This will be a study group with a focus on discussion, personal sharing and building sangha (community).
Meets the 3rd Sunday of each month from 4pm-5:30pm. This is an in-person gathering in Walnut Creek, CA.
